We have been warmly welcomed by our host families. We pulled into the church parking lot around midnight and were whisked off to homes to get what was left of a good night sleep before getting up for church.
Today's sermon theme, "Only Jesus...Can Make Us Look Up on the Last Day", had timely reminders about the urgency of the task of sharing Jesus with others. Jesus makes it possible for us to look up on the last day with joy and confidence when he returns. We want others to have that same peace.
Pastor Boehm in his sermon acknowledged the example the mission team from St. Croix was setting for the members of Shepherd of the Hills by choosing to spend a large portion of their "vacation" time doing work in Christ's kingdom. He thanked the students for their willing service.
Here is a group picture after church on the outdoor patio of the church.
On Sunday afternoon they put together Easter "eggsvitations" (thanks Mr. Raasch) to be distributed in the immediate community around Shepherd of the Hills for Easter Sunday worship and a children's egg hunt. We will be handing those out during the early afternoon.
